The room is named after Ioannis Paneras, who purchased the building in 1913 together with Charalambos Loizos. Uncle and nephew, both refugees from Krini (modern-day Çeşme), a historic Greek town in Asia Minor, managed to establish a large bakery on the third floor of the property. The building was vertically divided: the southern half housed the bakery business, while the northern half served as the Αρχοντικο, the family residence.

Charalambos was originally from the village of Petra in Cyprus and had later migrated to Krini, where he met and married Angeliki Charokammenou. A few years later, the couple found refuge on the island of Kalymnos. This room pays tribute to the resilience, heritage, and entrepreneurial spirit of the early 20th-century Greek refugees who shaped the legacy of this historic mansion.
